Acceptable Shoes

The NSW Department of EducationXổ số kiến thiết ba đài and Training guidelines in relation to safety and footwear in school prohibit students participating in practical activities in school if not wearing substantial footwear deemed safe by the Department.  This is to comply with NSW Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Unsafe shoes include those with openings, platform or high heels and made from unprotective, open weave materials such as canvas and cotton.

The Gorokan High School Policy on shoes has been developed to follow all of these requirements. School shoes are to be ALL BLACK; the entire foot is to be enclosed by the shoe, including the upper section of the foot; the shoe is to have FIRM LEATHER UPPERS and the shoe is to have low heels and be lace-up.

Sports/PD/H/PE Shoes

For sport and PE students may prefer to bring alternate shoes to school to change into.  The shoes may be different colours but must satisfy the other requirements stated above i.e. Lace-up, protective shoes that support and protect the foot.  Not canvas or fabric.

If the shoe can be bent back on itself or twisted like they are wringing out a sponge then it is:  1. Not supportive for sport purposes. 2. Not compliant with uniform requirements.

On sports day students can wear these shoes all day ONLY IF THEY ARE WEARING THE CORRECT GHS SPORTS / PE UNIFORM-not an alternative uniform.

Non Compliance

Xổ số kiến thiết ba đàiStudents wearing incorrect shoes cannot be allowed to participate in practical lessons.

Xổ số kiến thiết ba đàiWhere practical lessons are a compulsory component for a subject, students not following the shoe requirement risk failing course requirements. Continued failure to comply may result in non award warnings according to DET policy. A school non – award may jeopardise the award of a School Certificate, Preliminary Certificate and Higher School Certificate.

On days when it is not possible for students to wear their correct shoes, due to injury for example, students are required to bring a note to the office BEFORE 8.15 a.m. to be issued with a pass for the day. Feet must be covered by an alternative and that may mean that a shoe is worn on the good foot and a sock on the sore or injured foot. THONGSXổ số kiến thiết ba đài are not acceptable. Students not wearing suitable alternatives will sit in the office at recess and lunchtime for their own protection.

Xổ số kiến thiết ba đàiCompliance with uniform is recorded in the school welfare system and reported on each semester in school reports.

Students representing Gorokan High School at events outside school must comply with uniform requirements or they will not be allowed to participate.
